This tutorial for beginners who are interested in mining crypto and also free VPS. So, welcome all, you will learn how to FREE Monero CPU mining using google Colab from beginning.
Registration of Mining Pool
There are so many mining pools. I use MineGate you can sign up using the link below. Click “sign up” button at the top of the page. In the sign-up form fill email address and password. Check rechaptcha then press “sign up and start mining” button. You will redirect to the dashboard.
Get Pool Token for Monero CPU Mining
For the mining using Colab. You should have a mining token, Let’s get one. Click “Monero” under mining pools. In the new page, you will find your mining token. Then, you have to download the java configuration file for this.
After download, open the file using your note pad. Then, replace your token. You have to replace sever URL, port and user name. save the changes you made.
Setup Colab by Installing Miner
In the colab platform, open a new notebook then follow the steps carefully. First download the Linux Miner using following command.
! wget https://github.com/xmrig/xmrig/releases/download/v6.3.5/xmrig-6.3.5-linux-x64.tar.gz
Click code button at the top of the page to get new cell. Extracted the downloaded file using this command. You will see a new folder is created at the file section.
!tar xf xmrig-6.3.5-linux-x64.tar.gz
Drag and drop java your configuration file to the file section. Open the newly created folder in the file section. You should drag it to outside the folder other wise the starting command is not work. Then run the command to start the mining process.
!./xmrig -c config.json
Now the process is finished. You can see the process is stared and it mine monero for you.
Check the Miner is Working and Colab Disconnection Fixed
Go back to mine gate dashboard and check the Monero pool you can see it working.
Colab platform may be disconnected due to inactivity of the platform. You can find the solution form the below video. Watch it here.
Warning
Colab is platform created for education purposes for students, not for miners. Please, be aware for that. your account may be restricted by google when keep doing mining on colab.

Colab is not a mining platform and it is not allowed to mine.
